03/16/2006 Healthy Yards: Experts voice the merits of chemical-free lawns and gardens
The price of having a pest-free lawn this summer could be serious health problems if homeowners insist on using potentially dangerous pesticides. That was the message given loud and clear Tuesday night at Greenwich Library’s Cole Auditorium during an environmental symposium called “Chemical-Free Land Care for Family-Friendly Yards.” Dr. Barry Boyd, director of Greenwich Hospital’s Integrative Medicine Program, spoke about the health risks to both adults and children from pesticides and other chemicals and painted a bleak picture.
